Services

Three routes for licensing your proprietary data.

Representation, preparation, or support for a sale you lead. Each route is a separate engagement, billed its own way, and you can start with whichever fits.

Where to start

Find your route.

Four common situations, and the route that fits each.

You hold a distinctive datasetAnd want a structured buyer process

Managed Data Licensing represents you under a written mandate: brief, buyer research, approved outreach, evaluation, and offer comparison.

The data needs work firstOr you hold a buyer’s specification

Data Quality & Packaging measures and improves the dataset against written acceptance tests. You keep the outputs whatever comes next.

A buyer is already talking to youAnd you want to keep the relationship

Direct-Sale Enablement handles requirements, samples, diligence, and delivery while you lead the sale. No commission.

You are not sure yetWhether the data could be licensed at all

Take the five-minute readiness check, or describe the dataset to us. Neither needs raw data.

The routes

One lead offer, two that stand on their own.

Brokerage is our lead offer. Preparation and direct-sale support never carry a commission.

Which route fits the problem?

The intended client, what you receive, what you bring, and how each route is billed.

Every route

What every engagement includes.

The scope differs. These are always part of it.

  • A description first: no raw data through the website, ever
  • Scope, access, handling, and fees agreed in writing before work begins
  • A named approver at your company for every disclosure and release
  • Deliverables you keep, whatever you decide next

How the process works · How we handle data

Services are subject to dataset review and agreed scope. Buyer participation, offers, timing, prices, and licensing revenue are not promised. Preparation fees and brokerage terms are agreed separately. Every engagement is set out in a written proposal and agreement. Fees, rights, and obligations are governed by those documents.

Not sure which route?

Describe the dataset. We will recommend one.

Brokerage, preparation, a direct sale, or not proceeding. A short fit discussion settles it, and it needs no raw data.

  1. 01Describe the datasetFreeTake the readiness check, or describe the data to us. No raw data, records, or samples.
  2. 02Fit review and proposalFreeWe review authority, provenance, and fit, then recommend a route, a narrower scope, or not proceeding.
  3. 03Prepare, if neededFixed or milestone feeProfiling, cleaning, documentation, and a quality report, tested against an agreed specification.
  4. 04License, or sell directCommission or fixed feeRepresented by Copia under a written mandate, or supported technically while you lead the sale.

Each step is a separate decision. Buying an assessment or preparation does not appoint us as your broker.

Questions

Can we use more than one route?

Yes. A preparation project can come before a brokerage mandate, and a later deal with an existing buyer can use direct-sale support. Each is a separate engagement with its own terms.

Does buying preparation make you our broker?

No. Purchasing an assessment or preparation project does not appoint us as your broker. Any brokerage appointment requires a written mandate.

Why are fees not published?

They depend on the dataset, the work it needs, and the route. Your proposal names every fee, and how each is calculated, before work begins.

Do you represent buyers as well?

Copia is seller-side. Buyers can submit a data brief, which grants no access to data. Dual representation needs separately approved terms and risk review.

How does Copia relate to Sophrono?

Copia is the data licensing line of Sophrono, the AI implementation firm. Sophrono’s engineers support the data preparation and delivery work.
