Enterprise data licensing and quality services
License your proprietary data to AI developers. With a broker on your side of the table.
Copia represents data owners in a defined licensing process. We assess the proposed asset, organize approved materials, research prospective buyers, coordinate evaluations, and help you compare offers.
Need only preparation, or support for a sale you lead yourself? Those services stand on their own, billed for defined work with no commission.
Services are subject to dataset review and agreed scope. Buyer participation, offers, timing, prices, and licensing revenue are not promised. Preparation fees and brokerage terms are agreed separately.
- Seller-side only
- You approve every disclosure
- Description first, never raw data
Choose the support you need
Representation, preparation, or support for your own sale.
Each route is a separate engagement with its own terms. Buying preparation never appoints us as your broker.
Start free Neither needs raw data. Use them before you share anything.
Prepare
Measured quality, with or without a sale.
Represent
Our lead offer: a managed licensing process.
Support
You lead the sale. We do the data work.

Start with a description
Know your route before anything is shared.
Describe the dataset, how it was created, and who can authorize its use. We review fit first, and agree scope, approvals, and permitted disclosures before any access.
- 01Describe the datasetFreeTake the readiness check, or describe the data to us. No raw data, records, or samples.
- 02Fit review and proposalFreeWe review authority, provenance, and fit, then recommend a route, a narrower scope, or not proceeding.
- 03Prepare, if neededFixed or milestone feeProfiling, cleaning, documentation, and a quality report, tested against an agreed specification.
- 04License, or sell directCommission or fixed feeRepresented by Copia under a written mandate, or supported technically while you lead the sale.
Each step is a separate decision. Buying an assessment or preparation does not appoint us as your broker.

Deliverables you can inspect, not an earnings calculator.
An engagement can produce these. Ask which belong in your project.
- 01
A dataset card
Scope, permitted uses, provenance, update potential, and known limitations, on one document.
- 02
A quality report
Measured completeness, duplicates, and validity, with the method and the denominator stated.
- 03
An approval record
Every disclosure, recipient, and sample release, with who approved it and when.
- 04
An offer comparison
Cash, rights, exclusivity, obligations, and your proceeds after agreed fees, side by side.
A managed licensing process
We run the process. You approve every step that leaves your company.
Nothing is disclosed, sent, or sampled without a named approver at your company.
- ReviewA fit review of your description: authority, provenance, sensitivity, and buyer fit.
- MandateA written mandate for one approved dataset, with the fee mechanism stated.
- PrepareThe dataset brief, teaser, and diligence room, built from approved material.
- ApproveYou approve the materials, each recipient, and any sample release.
- CompareOffers set side by side. You and your counsel decide, and we track collection.
Seller-side only
We represent the data owner.
Copia acts under a limited mandate for the seller. Resale in our own name, principal purchases, and dual representation need separately approved terms.
Know what is offered before anything is shared
A description is the starting point.
Together we define the proposed scope, documentation needs, approval steps, and permitted disclosures. Raw data is never required through the website.
Always yours
Decisions that stay with the data owner.
We prepare, research, and coordinate. These stay with a named person at your company, every time, and the mandate says so.
- Which data is in scope, and which is not01
- Every external disclosure and teaser02
- Each recipient, before first contact03
- Every sample release and access grant04
- Whether to accept, counter, or decline an offer05
- The license agreement, signed with your counsel06
- You license the data. You keep the decisions.
How fees work
Every fee in your proposal, before work begins.
Your proposal identifies any preparation fee, brokerage retainer, approved expenses, and success commission. Nothing is billed that the proposal does not name.
Brokerage
A success commission on collected receipts. Any retainer is disclosed, and the proposal shows whether it is credited against commission.
Preparation
A fixed or milestone fee for defined work and acceptance tests. No commission, whatever you do next.
Direct-sale support
A fixed or capped fee per package. No commission, and no brokerage appointment.
Services are subject to dataset review and agreed scope. Buyer participation, offers, timing, prices, and licensing revenue are not promised. Preparation fees and brokerage terms are agreed separately.
Our standards
Seven commitments written into every mandate.
Each one is in the engagement documents, so you can hold us to it.
CANDOR
No promised outcomes.
We commit to the work, never to a buyer or a price.
- IINo valuations from a form.Price is tested in a real process, not estimated from a description.
- IIINo borrowed endorsements.Contact with a buyer is never presented as a partnership or approval.
CONTROL
Scope before access.
Authorization comes first, then the data.
- IVDescription first. No raw data until scope, access, and handling are agreed in writing.
- VProgressive disclosure.Teaser, then brief, then samples, each released only on approval.
CLARITY
Fees you can check.
Every fee named, every receipt defined.
- VICommission on collections.Brokerage is paid on receipts actually collected, as the mandate defines them.
- VIISeparate routes, separate terms.Preparation and direct-sale support never carry a hidden commission.
Why “Copia”
Copia is Latin for supply, and the root of “copy.” Every license is a controlled copy of something you own, on terms you set. Copia is a service of Sophrono. Read the story.
